Team aXxium Interview

At the end of preseason, CAL moved 7 CAL-O teams to Main. I decided to get back to girljeanS to interview him about their moveup!

zT|noSko #caloscrubz interviewing Cal-M moveup Team aXxium

zT|noSko : Allright, here we go. First of all, welcome back girljeans

aXxium|girljeanS : Thanks brah

zT|noSko : Congratulations on your moveup to CAL-Cod2 M.

aXxium|girljeanS : Thanks

zT|noSko : How were your preseason matches?

aXxium|girljeanS : Easy, we actually took the time to strat a slight amount for trainstation.

zT|noSko : (plug for the gayest map ever while we're here).

aXxium|girljeanS : I love trainstation, by far one of my favorite maps. It was honestly one of the best maps to choose from for preseason / move-up chances

zT|noSko : You think that was the sole reason CAL moved you guys up? Was there some behind the scenes blowjob action?

aXxium|girljeanS : You would have to talk to laurent about the blowjobs, I know nothing about them

zT|noSko : lol, seriously though.

aXxium|girljeanS : I was being serious, I would say talk to nzyme about them, but I don't think he is old enough to know what a blowjob is :O

zT|noSko : Because the CAL site is kinda gay and wiped your cal-o records, mind telling us what scores you got in preseason, and against who?

aXxium|girljeanS First match was against. Ballerz I think, we took that one 18-2. Both rounds we lost because of nzyme. I place the sole blame on him, haha.

Trainstation was Absolute Abolishment, I heard alot of hype about that team, so I convinced my team to at least strat a little bit on the map, especially defense, since we were in the run for a main spot, so we stratted a little bit for that one, and they proved to be a little bit better. I was expecting them to be much better then they actually were though, score was 14-6. But we lost alot of rounds by doing really stupid shit

zT|noSko : As a side note, both AA and HBZ are now Cal-Im teams, congratulations to them. Now, one of the things about CAL-M, 2 matches a week, think you're going to be able to deal with that?

aXxium|girljeanS : We will be fine with 2 matches a week, we actually play 3, because of cevo-a. But we are all dedicated enough to be able to be around for matches.

zT|noSko : You actually find times to strat shit?

aXxium|girljeanS : We tend to strat alot in the early afternoon. Shelf and myself are on alot in the early afternoon. I get out of class at noon, and he is almost always on around then. So we go over alot of shit and work on set nades etc. And we run over what we have done that day with Domenic when he gets off work around 5 and he changes little things. But it seems to be working so far.

zT|noSko :Yeah, obviously.

aXxium|girljeanS : We have had alot of time to prepare for matmata and burgundy though, even though burg was pushed way back. We will still use the same strat, more then likely.

When we first started the team though, before maplists were even announced at all we went through map by map for a few weeks scrimming and stratting so we could get a good feel for the teamwork we would need to develop quickly. We have strats for a majority of the maps now

zT|noSko : About the team, did you guys know each other before?

aXxium|girljeanS : I was on a team with nzyme, shelf, and soco before.Shelf joined Mouse-1 last season. At towards the end of it he told me that he would like to start up a team with me. So we took nzyme and soco from Team Who with us. And picked up Laurent early. I heard about Domenic looking for a team, and knew him from cal-im s1 when he was on TFS, so worked on getting him in, which proved to be a great idea. And then laurent found out Jibba from u4 / 5togo and concept was looking, and he is an amazing shotgun, so we picked him up too to shotgun full time. But he quit just 2 days ago. So we might be picking up a good shotgun, or might stick with soco/warpain shottying

zT|noSko: Take note people, looking for a shotty.

aXxium|girljeanS : Haha, I've had many offers, but only one has stood out so far ;)

zT|noSko : Now, your first match, against Shift-Six, how do you feel about playing a team which is well established in cal-im

aXxium|girljeanS : Shift-Six is a great group of guys, we always have fun scrimming against them, I don't think I have ever been able to play against them in a match, though, I heard they are looking very good lately, so I'm really looking forward to tonight

zT|noSko : True that, how bout paradox?

aXxium|girljeanS : Paradox is a very well known team, and I like a majority of them, even though they hate my guts.

zT|noSko : lol, why would that be?

aXxium|girljeanS : Well, I led a pug team in TWL last season, and we were to play them in the finals. I caught them smurfing blue from fivestar into the match, and they got kicked from the league.

zT|noSko : lol, allright

aXxium|girljeanS : They were upset about that.

zT|noSko : Yeah, I imagine, TWL is serious business

aXxium|girljeanS : I noticed, I got my TWL Championship ring :o

zT|noSko : Ok, onto something else, CEVO? You're in CEVO a as I understand.

aXxium|girljeanS : Yeah

zT|noSko : Think you have a chance of winning some moolah?

aXxium|girljeanS : I have alot of faith in the team I put together, and we are only there to win. I can't say that I guarantee anything, but I would love some extra cash in my pocket.

zT|noSko : Yeah, that's always nice, especially when it's for playing COD2. How bout SOTF and lans?

aXxium|girljeanS : SOTF was an amazing tournament when I played in SOTF8. But we had major roster issues going into it, and the rosters locked just before our starting 5th could get in,
so our 6th had to play, and he didnt have any dedication to the team whatsoever. We lost our first match in triple OT, and got blown out the second one with absolutely no preperation at all.
But SOTF9 is something that I look completely forward to, and plan on making a good impact into that with our current lineup.

As for lans we will be attending the next CH, along with the BYOC in Virginia in the summer. And hopefully more Cyberhubs after that, too

zT|noSko : 15k prize money is a sexy thought.

aXxium|girljeanS : Oh definitely, and I know that if we bring our A game, we can compete with many of the top teams in the game

zT|noSko Now, you're with aXxium. Did you go with these guys because of the anti-smoke thing, or is it just added coolness.(check axxiumgaming.com to see what I’m talking about).

aXxium|girljeanS : When we first started the team we were looking to get a good sponsor, We looked through alot of Cal-i 1.6 / Source teams, and Shelf came across axxium, and said that they looked like a good group of guys, so we came up to them and asked if they would be interested in a cod2 team. They eventually agreed, and we are part of that organization now, obviously. I love the message they are trying to portray, and it really isn't so much about anti-smoking as it is pro-truth. Theory wants to get it out there that the tobacco companies use lies and slander to sell their products, and doesn't want that to continue, so he is trying to make an impact through gaming.

zT|noSko : Yeah, it's nice to see gaming organisations with some kind of political/ethical engagement. Anything else you'd like to add?

aXxium|girljeanS : Not really much more to add, just that I am looking forward to the start of a great cal-main season, and a great cevo season also. Hopefully you will see us deep in the playoffs of both!

zT|noSko: Allright, well, thanks a lot for the interview girljeanS, and good luck in CAL-M/CEVO-A/SOTF9.
